World Aquatics announces the host city for the 2026 World Cup of Synchronized Swimming: Xi'an welcomes the "mermaids" once again.
On the 16th, World Aquatics announced that the 2026 Artistic Swimming World Cup will be held across five cities on four continents, with the Super Final taking place in Toronto, Canada. Meanwhile, Xi'an, China, will once again welcome the "mermaids."

On June 15, Chinese athletes performed during a showcase event. That day, the 2025 World Aquatics Championships Final in synchronized swimming concluded at the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center Swimming and Diving Arena. Xinhua News Agency reporter Zou Jingyi captured the photos. In 2026, the Artistic Swimming World Cup will enter its tenth year, featuring a total of five stops: the opening event kicks off from February 13 to 15 in Medellín, Colombia; it then moves to Paris, France, from March 27 to 29; next, from May 1 to 3, the competition arrives in Xi'an, China; the fourth leg takes place in Pontevedra, Spain, from May 29 to 31; and finally, the Super Final will be held in Toronto, Canada, from June 19 to 21.

For five cities, hosting the World Aquatics Championships in artistic swimming is highly significant—especially for Medellín, Colombia's second-largest city, which will host a World Cup event for the first time ever. Meanwhile, for Xi'an, the host city of the 2025 Super Final, the World Cup in artistic swimming marks China’s 111th World Aquatics (including former FINA) event, underscoring the nation’s growing prominence on the global swimming stage and within the World Aquatics organization itself.
