Notice from the Swimming Center of the General Administration of Sport on Hosting the China Swimming Association Advanced Swimming Instructor Training Course

To the relevant units:
According to the requirements outlined in the "Notice on Special Skill Assessment Standards for Entry-Level Swimming Coaches (including Open-Water Swimming)" issued by the Swimming Center of the General Administration of Sport, our center will host the China Swimming Association Advanced Swimming Coach Training Workshop from May 15 to 18, 2025, in Xi'an. This initiative aims to strengthen swimming education and training efforts, further enhance the professional expertise and overall competence of Chinese swimming instructors, and ensure that youth and mass swimming activities are conducted in a healthy, safe, standardized, and orderly manner. Please find the relevant details below:
1. Training Team

Instructor:
Zhang Yadong (Former Head Coach of the National Swimming Team, Coach of Olympic Champions)
Gao Jie (Professor, PhD, and Doctoral Supervisor at Beijing Sport University)
Zhang Mingfei (Professor at Jimei University in Fujian, and Master's Thesis Supervisor)
Qu Ming (Professor, South China Normal University, Guangdong)
Ge Yu (Ph.D., Lecturer, Beijing Sport University)
Other training staff serve as instructors for the workshop.
II. Schedule and Agenda
(1) Schedule: Check-in on May 14, 2025; theoretical and practical sessions from May 15 to May 18; graduation ceremony and departure in the morning of May 19.
(II) Training Content
1. Special Lecture: How to Become an Outstanding Coach
2. Technical characteristics of high-level swimmers;
3. Main methods and techniques of modern swimming training;
4. Functional training for swimmers;
5. Technical Training Methods and Practices for Swimming
6. Basic Analysis Methods for Swimming Technique
7. Error-Correction Skills and Practice in Swimming Instruction
3. Eligibility Requirements
Those who meet **one of the following conditions** may apply:
(1) Swimming teachers and coaches from primary and secondary schools across all provinces, cities (districts), and counties nationwide—those who have completed training provided by the Chinese Swimming Association since 2023 and obtained the Chinese Swimming Association’s Intermediate-Level Swimming Instructor Certificate;
(II) Coaches from grassroots amateur swimming teams and youth swimming clubs across the country, as well as instructors involved in swimming education and training for children and adolescents—those who have completed training offered by the Chinese Swimming Association since 2023 and subsequently obtained the Chinese Swimming Association’s Intermediate-Level Swimming Instructor Certificate;
(III) Retired athletes from professional teams in each province and city can register directly (must provide proof of being a professional team athlete, or submit evidence of participation in national swimming championships, tournaments, etc.);
(IV) Physical education teachers specializing in swimming at higher education institutions, holding a position of assistant lecturer or above;
(5) Individuals holding the National Vocational Qualification Certificate for Intermediate-Level Swimming Instructors.
(6) Participants should have the swimming ability to complete a 100-meter individual medley using standard swimming strokes.
4. Registration and Check-in
(1) Registration

2. Applicants who register after the deadline will not be scheduled for training. In case of any discrepancies between online registration and the completed application form, the officially stamped application form will take precedence.
3. The number of applicants this time is 130.
(II) Check-in
1. Participants are requested to check in promptly at the Tangcheng Hotel in Xi'an (No. 229, South Section of Hangguang Road, Yanta District, Xi'an) between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM on May 14.
2. On the morning of May 19, the closing ceremony and departure took place.
5. Funding
(1) There is no registration fee for this training; however, participants will be responsible for their own accommodation, meals, travel expenses, and materials.
(II) Participants are required to pay for accommodation and meals (including a shared double room at the hotel, meals, study materials, and venue fees), at 450 yuan per person per day, calculated over 5 days. If you opt for a single large bed room, an additional room surcharge of 150 yuan per person per day will apply, also calculated over 5 days. Please note that single large bed rooms are available on a limited basis—reservations will be accepted until the rooms are fully booked.
(III) Participants are required to pay an insurance fee of 25 yuan per person.
(IV) Participants are required to pay a study material fee of 60 yuan per person.
(5) Participants are requested to remit the costs for accommodation, meals, insurance, and materials to the designated account by May 10.
The organizing unit for this training is Xi'an Zhirong Sports Consulting Service Co., Ltd. Please include your organization or personal details when making a corporate transfer.

6. Requirements
(1) Participants are requested to bring their own water-based and land-based equipment.
(II) Participants attending the training course are requested to bring two 2-inch photos with a white background upon registration.
(III) After completing the training and passing the assessment, trainers will receive the "Advanced Swimming Instructor Certificate," a certification issued by the Chinese Swimming Association.
(IV) Please ensure the organizing unit makes all necessary preparations for the training course.
