12 Correct Stretching Techniques for Playing Badminton!












Amateur badminton enthusiasts can perform these static stretches while waiting on the sidelines. If you feel any soreness or tightness in a particular area, it’s a clear sign that you’ve stretched to the right spot—but if there’s no sensation at all during stretching, it means you’re still not reaching deep enough. So, how should you warm up before stepping onto the court? Is hitting high clears the way? In our opinion, this isn’t the most effective approach. Instead, start by gently mobilizing your fingers and wrists, then practice techniques like net play, flat blocking, flat smashes, and drop shots. Only once your body starts to warm up—and you notice a light sweat—should you progress to higher clears and powerful smashes. Remember, warming up should always be gradual and steady. The same goes for playing: avoid sudden, intense bursts followed by abrupt stops right from the start!
