Chongqing Stop of the National Youth Swimming U-Series Competition: Foshan Young Athlete Wins 3 Golds and 3 Silvers

On February 16, the inaugural stop of the 2025 National Youth Swimming U-Series Competition—the Chongqing leg—concluded, with Foshan student Pi Sirui making a remarkable breakthrough. She clinched first place in the 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, and 200-meter individual medley, earning medals across multiple events including freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, and individual medley. In total, she secured three golds and three silvers in a single impressive performance.

"Triple Crown Champion" Pi Sirui currently attends Guangshi Experimental School in Shishan Town, Nanhai District, and is coached by Yu Jianyong, a nationally certified-level swimmer with extensive coaching experience. As one of Foshan's leading swimming schools, the institution has consistently achieved remarkable success in provincial, municipal, and district-level competitions. In 2024, it once again claimed the team championship at the Shishan Town Primary and Secondary School Swimming Competition—and that same year, the school secured the runner-up spot in the team category at the Foshan City All-Series Swimming Championships. Additionally, at the 2024 Nanhai District Primary and Secondary School Games "Dingcheng Cup" Swimming Competition, the school finished third in the overall team standings, while also producing Shishan Team’s sole "double champion."

Pisrui said he looks up to Pan Zhanle as his role model and aims to become an Olympic champion.
