Multiple world records at the Short Course Swimming World Cup have been broken!
Beijing time, October 20, 2025At the World Cup Short Course Swimming event in Westmont, several swimming world records were broken.

Women's 200m Backstroke (Short Course)

In the women's 200m backstroke, Australian swimmer Kaylee McKeown shattered the world record with a time of 1:57.87 to claim the gold medal!

Kylie Masse is a dominant force in Australia's backstroke scene. In her individual events, 2025At the Singapore World Swimming Championships, she clinched the gold in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 57.16 seconds, setting a new meet record and breaking the Oceania record—just 0.03 seconds shy of the world record. The women's 200m freestyle breaks 1 minute 50 seconds for the first time.This result surpassed the previous record holder, Hong Kong, China's Siobhan Haughey, who set the mark of 1:50.31 at the 2021 World Short Course Swimming Championships.
In her individual events, Molly O'Callaghan previously won the gold medal in the women's 200m freestyle final at the 2025 World Swimming Championships in Singapore, clocking a time of 1:53.48; she also claimed the silver medal in the women's 100m freestyle with a split of 52.67 seconds.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Molly O'Callaghan won the women's 200m freestyle final with a time of 1:53.27.

It is understood that this year's Short Course Swimming World Cup consists of three leg events, with the first leg already concluding from October 10 to 12 in Carmel, USA.
