Notice from the Swimming Center of the General Administration of Sport on Hosting the China Swimming Association's Beginner-Level Swimming Instructor Training Course

To the relevant units:

According to the requirements outlined in the "Notice on Special Skill Assessment Standards for Entry-Level Coach Training in Swimming (including Open-Water Swimming)" issued by the Swimming Center of the General Administration of Sport, obtaining the National Sports Administration's entry-level coach certificate first requires earning the Chinese Swimming Association's intermediate swimming instructor certification. To this end, in order to effectively carry out swimming education and training, further enhance the professional expertise and overall competence of China's swimming coaches, and promote the healthy, safe, and orderly development of swimming activities among youth and the general public—while ensuring the smooth implementation of subsequent training programs for the Chinese Swimming Association's intermediate swimming instructors and the Administration's entry-level coaches—we will be hosting the Chinese Swimming Association's Entry-Level Swimming Instructor Training Workshop from February 26 to March 2, 2025, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. Details are as follows:

1. Training Team

Two people at the swimming center,

Lecturers: Gao Jie (Beijing Sport University, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor),

Chen Wushan (Guangzhou Sport University, Professor),

Ma Jiguang (Shanghai University of Sport, Professor),

Ge Yu (Beijing Sport University, Lecturer, PhD);

Other training staff serve as instructors for the workshop.

II. Schedule and Agenda

(1) Schedule

Check-in on February 26, 2025; theoretical sessions, hands-on training, and assessments from February 27 to March 1, 2025; departure on March 2, 2025.

(II) Training Content

1. Principles and Methods for Basic Swimming Training;

2. Basic methods for land-based physical training in swimming;

3. Modern Swimming Techniques and Development Trends;

4. Basic Principles and Methods of Swimming Instruction.

3. Eligibility Requirements

(1) Swimming teachers and coaches from primary and secondary schools across all provinces, cities (districts), and counties nationwide;

(II) Coaches from grassroots amateur swimming teams and youth swimming clubs across the country, as well as coaches and technical/teaching staff involved in swimming education and training for children and adolescents, are all welcome to apply.

(III) Current university students (majoring in swimming-related fields) and competitive swimmers who have prior experience in swimming training are all eligible to apply.

(IV) Participants should have the swimming ability to perform a standard 100-meter individual medley.

4. Registration and Check-in

(1) Registration

1. Participants are required to complete the registration form (Attachment 1) and the accommodation reservation form (Attachment 2) on a computer, following the specified format. Both forms must be submitted in duplicate—via email and by express courier—to the organizing unit by February 11 (as indicated by the local postmark). 2. Applicants who register after the deadline will not be scheduled for training. In case of any discrepancies between online registration and the completed application form, the officially stamped application form will take precedence.

3. The number of applicants this time is 120.

(II) Check-in

1. Participants are requested to check in at the Hyatt Place Harbin Hotel by 2:30 PM on February 26 (Address: 421 Xuanhua Street, Harbin).

2. Participants are requested to bring their own proper swimwear and swimming caps. A swimming proficiency test will be conducted upon registration.

5. Funding

(1) There is no registration fee for this training; however, participants will be responsible for their own accommodation, meals, transportation, and materials.

(II) Participants are required to pay for accommodation and meals (including a shared double room at the hotel, meals, and access to the training venue), at a rate of 450 yuan per person per day, calculated over 4 days. If you opt for a single large bed room, an additional room supplement of 150 yuan per person per day will apply, also calculated over 4 days. Please note that single large bed rooms are available on a limited basis—reservations will be accepted until the rooms are fully booked.

(III) Insurance fee: 25 yuan per person;

(IV) Learning materials fee: 50 yuan per person.

(V) Participants are requested to remit the relevant fees to the designated account by February 11.

2. No refunds will be issued for this training course.

6. Requirements

(1) Participants are requested to bring their own water-based and land-based equipment.

(II) Participants attending the training course are requested to bring two 2-inch photos with a white background upon registration.

(III) After completing the training and passing the assessment, participants will receive the "National Level 1 Swimming Instructor Certificate" issued by the Chinese Swimming Association.

(IV) Please ensure the organizing unit makes all necessary preparations for the training course.
