On April 25, the Personnel Department of the General Administration of Sport of China released information on personnel adjustments within the administration (dated April 2), appointing Huang Wei as Director and Party Secretary of the Swimming Sports Management Center, while relieving him of his previous role as Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection at the center.

On April 22, Huang Wei was elected Vice President of the Chinese Swimming Association and later accepted an interview with a reporter.
