Singapore World Swimming Championships: "Dream Team" Claims First Gold! China Wins Diving Mixed Team Title

On the afternoon of July 26, the first gold medal of the diving events at the 2025 Singapore World Aquatics Championships was awarded. In the mixed team final, the Chinese team—featuring Cao Yuan, Chen Yiwen, Chen Yuxi, and Cheng Zilong—emerged victorious to claim the title.
The mixed team final featured 21 teams competing. In the first round, each team sent two athletes to perform the women's and men's individual 3-meter springboard dives, respectively. In the second round, each team paired up a male and female athlete to execute the mixed 3-meter synchronized platform dive. Finally, in the third and fourth rounds, each team had two athletes tackle the women's and men's individual 10-meter platform dives, followed by another mixed 10-meter synchronized platform routine performed by a male-female pair.
The Chinese team was the 15th to compete and had held first place since the second round of the mixed 3-meter springboard event. In the third round, Chen Yuxi and Cheng Zilong delivered a stellar performance on the 10-meter platform, further extending China's lead. In the final round, the pair continued their solid teamwork in the mixed event, ultimately helping the Chinese team clinch the first gold medal with a total score of 466.25 points.Leading the runner-up Mexican team by nearly 40 points, Japan secured third place.

Chen Yuxi delivered a steady performance, her smile particularly radiant.

In the women's 1-meter springboard final that evening,Chinese athlete Li Yajie won the silver medal with a score of 290.25, while the gold medal went to Australia's renowned athlete, who was the women's 3m springboard runner-up at the 2024 Paris Olympics.Jini took the lead with a score of 308 points, surpassing Li Yajie by 17.75 points. Meanwhile, China's Chen Jia, who ranked second in the preliminaries, finished ninth after making a mistake on her third jump.She competed in this year's diving World Cup qualifying event.The first two stopsAs well as the women's 3-meter springboard singles and synchronized pairs champions of the finals.

The diving events at this year's World Championships will take place from July 26 to August 3, awarding a total of 13 gold medals. The Chinese diving team will compete in all events. This marks the 19th time the Chinese diving squad has participated in the World Championships. At the previous edition, the team claimed 9 gold medals out of the 10 events they entered, bringing the Dream Team's overall World Championship gold medal tally to 129.
