Today begins withLesson 6: Standing Up, Sidestepping, and Falling LeavesFor example, here’s the video👇: (Duration: 3 minutes)
How to stand up on a snowboard:
A.Beginners can either turn and stand on one hand while supporting themselves on the ground, or place both hands on the ground and arch their back as they rise into a standing position.
B. Track and field athlete's starting stance;
C. Frog standing position.
Key technique: Keep your weight evenly distributed on both feet. When standing up, ensure your weight is balanced across both feet to prevent sliding off to one side.
Leaves fall and drift:
① Leaf fall means sliding sideways across the slope, unaffected by its incline. Simply put, glide horizontally—don’t move downhill.
② Leaves drift sideways at the tips of your feet—gently apply pressure to the front foot while simultaneously scraping the snow with the edges of your toes.
③ The snowboard will point slightly downhill while gliding sideways across the slope.
④ Use the heel edge of the snowboard to carve sideways through the snow, then apply pressure with your front foot to start gliding.
