Notice from the Swimming Center of the General Administration of Sport on Hosting the Intermediate-Level Swimming Instructor Training Course by the Chinese Swimming Association

To the relevant units:

According to the requirements outlined in the General Administration of Sport Swimming Center’s "Notice on Specialized Skill Assessment Standards for Entry-Level Coach Training in Swimming (including Open-Water Swimming)," obtaining the National Sports Administration’s entry-level coach certificate first requires earning the Chinese Swimming Association’s intermediate swimming instructor certification. To this end, in order to effectively carry out swimming education and training, further enhance the professional expertise and overall competence of China’s swimming instructors, and promote the healthy, safe, and orderly development of swimming activities among youth and the general public—thereby ensuring the smooth implementation of subsequent training programs for intermediate swimming instructors from the Chinese Swimming Association and entry-level coaches from the General Administration—we will be hosting the Chinese Swimming Association Intermediate Swimming Instructor Training Workshop from September 10 to 13 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Details regarding the event are provided below:

1. Training Team

Two at the Swimming Center

Instructor:

Gao Jie (Professor, PhD, and Doctoral Supervisor at Beijing Sport University)

Ma Jiguang (Professor, Shanghai University of Sport)

Chen Wushan (Professor, Guangzhou Sport University)

Qu Ming (Professor, South China Normal University)

Ge Yu (Lecturer and PhD, Beijing Sport University)

Other training staff serve as instructors for the workshop.

II. Schedule and Agenda

(1) Schedule: Check-in on September 9, theoretical sessions, hands-on training, and assessments from September 10 to 13; the morning of September 13 will be dedicated to training, followed by departure in the afternoon.

(II) Training Content

1. Principles and Methods for Basic Swimming Training;

2. Basic methods for land-based physical training in swimming;

3. Modern Swimming Techniques and Development Trends;

4. Basic Principles and Methods of Swimming Instruction;

3. Eligibility Requirements

(1) Swimming teachers and coaches from primary and secondary schools across all provinces, cities (districts), and counties nationwide; must hold the Chinese Swimming Association’s Level 1 Swimming Instructor Certificate.

(II) Coaches from local amateur swimming teams and youth swimming clubs across the country, as well as coaches and technical/teaching staff involved in swimming education and training for children and adolescents, are all welcome to apply. Applicants must hold a China Swimming Association Level 1 Swimming Instructor Certificate.

(III) Individuals who have undergone swimming training and possess professional swimming skills at Level 1 or above are eligible to register;

(IV) Participants should have the swimming ability to complete a 100-meter individual medley using standard strokes.

4. Registration and Check-in

(1) Registration

1. Participants are required to scan the QR code below and log in to the WeChat mini-program for registration by 5 September, 17:00 at the latest. Please accurately complete the registration form and pay the workshop’s accommodation, meals, insurance, and materials fees to successfully finalize your registration.

2. Registration is confirmed upon payment of the training fee. After registering, please scan the QR code as prompted by the mini-program to add yourself to the group. Class teachers will join the group via WeChat. All subsequent notifications and updates will be shared exclusively within this communication group—no further individual announcements will be made. Applicants who register after the deadline will not be accommodated in the training program. Be sure to complete the registration form (Attachment 1) and the accommodation reservation form (Attachment 2) as required.

4. In case of any discrepancies between the online application and the application form, the application form stamped with the official seal shall prevail.

5. The number of applicants this time is 130.

(II) Check-in

Participants are requested to arrive at Nanjing Zijing Hotel (No. 53 Yan Gong Miao, Xiaolingwei, Xuanwu District, Nanjing) between 1:00 PM and 8:00 PM on September 9.

Participants are requested to bring proper swimwear and a swimming cap. A swimming proficiency test will be conducted upon registration.

5. Funding

(1) There is no registration fee for this training; participants are responsible for their own accommodation, meals, and travel expenses.

(II) Participants will pay a fee of 450 yuan per day per person, which includes accommodation in a shared double room at the hotel, meals, and access to the training venue. This rate is calculated for 4 days. If a single room is required, an additional room supplement of 150 yuan per person per day will apply, also calculated over 4 days.

(III) Participants are required to pay an insurance fee of 25 yuan per person.

(IV) Participants are required to pay a study material fee of 50 yuan per person.

(5) Participants are requested to remit the costs for accommodation, meals, insurance, and study materials to the account designated by the organizing unit by August 30.

6. Requirements

(1) Participants are requested to bring their own water-based and land-based equipment.

(II) Participants attending the training course are requested to bring two 2-inch photos with a white background upon registration.

(III) Participants in the training course are required to undergo a medical examination at a hospital at or above the county level and submit the official medical report upon registration.

(IV) Upon completing the training and passing the assessment, participants will receive the "Chinese Swimming Association Intermediate Swimming Instructor Certificate" issued by the Chinese Swimming Association.

(5) Please ensure the organizing unit makes all necessary preparations for the training workshop.
