It is understood that although recent tests over the past few days have all met the required standards, the analysis of samples collected on July 13 revealed that the water quality in the competition area failed to meet the relevant event standards set by FINA.After review by representatives from the World Aquatics Association, the Singapore 2025 Organizing Committee, the World Aquatics Medical Commission, and the World Aquatics Open Water Swimming Technical Committee, it has been decided—out of consideration for the athletes' health and safety—to temporarily postpone the event by one day, rescheduling it for July 16.
The World Aquatics Federation and the Singapore Organizing Committee simultaneously announced that they will continue collecting water samples and conducting water quality reviews. World Aquatics already resumed sampling and testing on Tuesday morning, with results expected to be released on Wednesday (the 16th) morning—determining whether the men’s and women’s 10-kilometer race events will proceed as planned.
