Recently, well-known badminton influencer Yang Chen launched a public attack on fellow influencer Wang Xiaoyu. Yang first targeted the products Wang was endorsing, then escalated to a full-blown, multi-faceted assault—leaving Wang visibly furious and defensive. What do you all think about this?

The reason was a post titled "…" that Wang Xiaoyu published on the DY platform on November 12.After repeated revisions and tests, I finally achieved the result I was happy with."The video features an X-02 hand grip, and the shopping cart even displays the words 'Wang Xiaoyu's signature hand grip.' As everyone knows, Wang Xiaoyu kicked off her product-selling career after gaining fame early on for managing a popular short-video account. Of course, thanks to her strong appeal as a top-tier livestreamer, she’s certainly managed to draw in countless fans willing to support her purchases. But in this particular video, she says..."Rework, rework, rework"Yet it has drawn criticism from industry insiders!"
Wang Xiaoyu is considered one of the earliest badminton players to gain widespread popularity, and today, she’s firmly established herself as a top-tier influencer within the badminton community. Once you reach that level, connections, resources, money, and even massive online traffic practically come knocking at your door—enough to make anyone green with envy. But does Wang Xiaoyu truly deserve it?

What propelled her into the spotlight were image tags like "long-legged beauty," "innocent and adorable," and "graceful in her movements." But these alone wouldn’t have been enough to secure her position—so she evolved from coaching young kids in early training sessions to later taking on badminton challenges and even competing against champions. Still, competitive sports are inherently hierarchical, and Wang Xiaoyu’s skill level is undeniable: she’s a top-tier badminton player. Yet above her stand national-level players, international-class athletes, and even those recognized at the national sports master level.

"It’s just that when everyone’s ‘eating from the same bowl,’ things get too messy—no one looks good, especially not a cute young beauty born in the 2000s." So either people choose to be more polite, lose interest altogether, or simply don’t have the ability to handle it.

But Yang Chen was different—right from the moment he launched his own brand, he started "attacking" Wang Xiaoyu. Every time she released something new, he’d jump right in with a review (and blast it mercilessly). Early on, he was as tough as they come, even going so far as to call her out by name and practically yell at her. Later on, though, he must have received some expert advice—or maybe he just got overwhelmed by Wang Xiaoyu’s loyal "knights," who stormed his territory. Either way, he switched tactics entirely, releasing a piece titled "I Also Like Wang Xiaoyu." Talk about a masterstroke!

It was none other than the legendary Yang Chen who bluntly exposed Wang Xiaoyu's little secret—without sparing her a single bit of courtesy.

1. Over the years, I've been working for badminton enthusiasts because the three major brands are being overly aggressive—there’s a huge premium on badminton rackets.
2. In contrast, Wang Xiaoyu simply pays for ads to promote products, shamelessly swindling money from her mentally unstable fans.
3. Some of Wang Xiaoyu's badminton coaching methods (like the jump smash), certain comments he’s made (such as promoting custom hand grips), and even some of the products he sells—like a particular feel-training tool that, according to Yang Chen, should *absolutely* not be used—are nothing short of insulting to the sport of badminton.
4. Revealing Wang Xiaoyu's controversial past—how she was advised to leave the professional team, and how many people she reportedly gave herself to.
5. Most infuriating of all—yes, I, Yang Chen, have my own share of emotionally troubled past experiences, and I’ve certainly hurt plenty of people in the process. But I own up to it: we’re all just ordinary humans, so there’s no need to pretend to be some innocent "white lotus." (In fact, this is the cruelest twist—Yang Chen already fits the stereotype of a morally questionable guy, while Wang Xiaoyu still desperately clings to her previous image as a pure, sweet, and wholesome young girl in order to keep winning fans’ hearts.)

Actually, this time I’m rooting for Yang Chen—though earlier, when it came to the issue involving Lin Youshen, I sided with Lin. But thinking it over, I now feel Yang Chen was mostly right in this latest incident. As a privileged “princeling” from a wealthy family, he could’ve easily chosen a completely different path in life. Instead, he opted to pursue professional badminton training from a young age. Clearly, at his core, Yang Chen’s passion for badminton runs deep and genuine. And honestly, his racket isn’t even that expensive—when compared to rackets from the big three brands that offer similar feel and quality, its price is less than one-third of theirs. Plus, let’s not forget, this guy’s pretty bold too: he even introduced a 45-day no-questions-asked return policy, which probably has those major manufacturers grinding their teeth in frustration!

The tearful response video from Wang Xiaoyu was dripping with emotion—but it didn’t exactly offer much substance. He tried to pivot the conversation toward feminism, but Yang Chen smoothly deflected the attempt (I’m not attacking women; I’m simply calling out the "white-lotus" act some girls pull on public platforms). Meanwhile, a fan actually stepped in to advise Wang Xiaoyu: "If what you’re saying is true, go ahead and dig up the evidence to back it up. Sure, discussing your personal emotional history might make it awkward to rally those like-minded allies for proof—but other aspects are far easier to clear yourself on. For instance, did you really charge him the exorbitant sums he claimed for each advertising spot? And what about the infamous hand-gel issue? If it’s true that you repeatedly sent the product back to the factory for costly rework, there’d surely be plenty of concrete evidence to expose his lies. After all, the very items you sold ended up ruining—not enhancing—players’ grip. Plus, how exactly did you manage to leave the professional team in the first place? As long as you’ve acted with integrity and stood firm in your principles, you’ve got every right to confront him head-on in a fair and open debate. Yet somehow, Wang Xiaoyu didn’t even bring up any of these points."

"Quoting a buddy who commented on Douyin: 'I used to absolutely love Wang Xiaoyu and totally hated Yang Chen the god-level player—but now, surprisingly, it’s the exact opposite…'"
