Breaking through the waves and swimming ahead—The 2025 "Jinshan Cup" Open Swimming Championships Concludes Successfully

Despite the scorching summer heat, the athletes’ passion surged like an unstoppable tide—burning even hotter than the temperature itself on the competition field. At 8:45 a.m., leaders from the Zhejiang Provincial Wrestling and Judo Association, Shaoxing Municipal Sports Bureau, Shaoxing Swimming Association, Shaoxing Winter Swimming Association, Zhuji Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, Zhuji Municipal Education and Sports Bureau, Zhuji Municipal Water Resources Bureau, Zhuji Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau, as well as representatives from the Zhuji Commercial City Construction and Management Committee—and other relevant organizations—gathered at Sanjiang Sports Park, joined by members of the Jiangnan Subdistrict leadership team and representatives from several sponsoring companies.
As Yan Qingyun, Deputy Director of the Shaoxing Municipal Sports Bureau, announced the start of the 16th China Shaoxing Open Water Swimming Open—the "Jinan Cup"—the starting gun pierced through the sky, instantly igniting the electric atmosphere at the scene. Waves of applause and cheers merged into a fiery surge of energy.

This open-water swimming competition features an 8x100-meter mixed-gender freestyle relay, with the first and eighth legs required to be swum by female athletes. A total of 20 teams from Shaoxing and surrounding counties and cities have sent their swimmers to participate.
As the starting gun fired, the first runners on all five lanes plunged into the crystal-clear river, powering forward toward the turnaround point with every stroke—each movement a testament to their relentless battle for speed. Along the riverbanks, spectators erupted in passionate cheers, their voices rising and falling in rhythm with the thrilling ebb and flow of the race.

After four thrilling rounds of competition, the results for each team have been announced. In the end, Tongxiang City Swimming Association claimed first place with an impressive time of 11 minutes and 49.59 seconds, while Zhuji Longyin Swimming Paddleboard Club finished second with a time of 11 minutes 55.22 seconds. Zhuji City Swimming Association secured third place, clocking in at 12 minutes 05.50 seconds. Meanwhile, China Light Textile City Winter Swimming Association, Shaoxing Haoyunlai Swimming Club, Shaoxing Gaolegao Swimming Club, Xinchang County Swimming Association, and Hangzhou Xiaoshan District Swimming Association took fourth through eighth places, respectively.
Additionally, the competition awarded 12 prizes for Outstanding Organization, going to Zhujijiang Fengqiao Swimming Association, Shaoxing Youle Sports Club, Yuecheng District Swimming Association (Youyong), Shangyu District Swimming Association, Yiwu City Swimming Association, Shengzhou City Swimming Association, Yangjinghu Winter Swimming Club, Shaoxing Zhuojie Swimming Club, Shaoxing Jianhu Winter Swimming Club, Shaoxing Chengnan Subdistrict Winter Swimming Team, and Shaoxing Langqiao Winter Swimming Team.
This time, the Zhuji Longyin Swimming and Paddleboard Club, as the event organizer, also donated 2,000 yuan to the local Sanjiang Xincun Charity Canteen, helping to further support the growth of charitable initiatives in the community.
The event venue also thoughtfully featured the "Jin'an Time, Shared Prosperity Market," showcasing local specialties from Jin'an Street such as Youma dumplings, rattan desserts, mung bean soup, and Gaoxi watermelons. While providing essential support to the athletes, this market effectively promoted Jin'an Street's unique culinary delights, seamlessly blending sports competition with cultural and tourism-driven consumption.

The successful hosting of this competition would not have been possible without the tremendous support from all the athletes, staff members, volunteer teams, sponsors, and government organizations—everybody’s hard work and dedication truly made this event a resounding success. Let’s connect through sports, let water serve as our bridge, and may we witness friendship blossoming amid the spirit of competition. Here’s to meeting again next year!
