Parent-child group continues

The 2024 Qiantang River Crossing event has introduced a parent-child category for the first time. This year, the parent-child group continues to be offered, providing families with a valuable opportunity to enjoy water sports together while also helping to further popularize swimming and strengthen bonds of interaction and collaboration among family members. The goal is to ensure that every family member can fully engage, have fun, and share in the joy of water-based activities.

The scale remains substantial.

To meet the growing demand from swimming enthusiasts, the total number of participants in this year's Qiantang River Crossing event once again reached 3,500.

Additionally, this year Hangzhou has specially arranged event-related accommodations, car rentals, and local tour services for out-of-town participants. The organizers will also strengthen efforts to engage broader societal involvement, bringing in more partners to jointly enhance service quality and provide even more attentive support for all competitors.

Lottery-based drawing ensures fair registration

To prevent overcrowding in the registration system and ensure fairness, this year’s Qiantang River Crossing event will once again use a lottery-based drawing to determine eligibility for the test. Participants must submit their registration information within the specified timeframe and then wait for the lottery results. Those selected will receive an SMS notification and will be required to take the swimming skills test as instructed. Only after successfully passing the test will participants earn their official entry into the event.

Water Fun Carnival Held Simultaneously

During the Qiantang River Crossing event, Hangzhou’s City Balcony will also host a simultaneous Water Carnival. Collaborating with the popular game *Dongzai Party*, the event features massive egg-shaped water slides, a dazzling light-and-shadow pool, and an endless bubble pit—offering citizens a refreshing summer celebration filled with aquatic fun.

Enhanced safeguards, ensuring safety every step of the way

Compared to previous years, this year sees an increase in the number of support vessels, including speedboats, kayaks, jet skis, and paddleboards—each equipped with professional, highly experienced lifeguards. Additionally, volunteers, whose numbers far exceed last year’s, will actively participate in event support, providing athletes with comprehensive assistance and services.
