The 2025 National Open Water Swimming Series (Huating Lake Stop), featuring the 8th China·Huating Lake International Open Water Swimming Competition, will be held from May 17 to 18, 2025, at Huating Lake in Taihu County, Anhui Province. We are now sharing relevant event information.

II. Time and Location
Held on May 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM, and on the morning of May 18 at 8:30 AM, at Huating Lake in Taihu County, Anhui Province (a national AAAA-level scenic area).

5. Participating Organizations
Club committees of swimming associations from various cities, collective member units of the Winter Swimming Committee and swimming associations, as well as specially invited international groups.
6. Participation Guidelines
(1) Age Requirements
Group A: 18-34 age group (born from 2007 to 1991)
Group B: 35-44 age group (born between 1990 and 1981)
Group C: 45-49 age group (born from 1980 to 1976)
Group D: 50-54 age group (born from 1975 to 1971)
Group E: 55–60 age group (born between 1970 and 1965)
Group F: 61-65 age group (born from 1964 to 1960)
Group G: Performers Aged 19–65 (Born between 1960 and 2007)
(II) This competition is limited to 1,600 participants. There is no limit on the number of entries per organization.
(III) Participants must submit a "Voluntary Participation Liability Form" signed by themselves and pay the registration fee to register for the competition.
(IV) Health Requirements for Participants
1. Swimming competitions are a physically demanding sport that places high demands on participants' physical condition. Participants should be in good health and have a solid foundation of long-term swimming practice or training. Individuals may register based on their own fitness level and personal capabilities. The organizing committee requires all competitors to undergo a pre-event health check-up at a qualified medical institution (at district or county level and above) prior to the competition.
Individuals with the following conditions should not participate in the competition:
① Patients with congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease;
② Patients with hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases;
③ Patients with myocarditis and other heart conditions;
④ Patients with coronary artery disease and those with severe arrhythmias;
⑤ Diabetic patients with blood sugar levels that are too high or too low;
⑥ Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 within 30 days prior to the match day;
⑦ Others who are not suitable for this sport.
If participants violate the rules without authorization, they will be solely responsible for all resulting consequences.
2. Each age group should check in according to the schedule outlined in the Official Program. After verification, participants should perform their warm-up exercises at the starting point. Those who fail to check in for the second time will be considered to have forfeited their participation.
3. This competition will be conducted with the assistance of law enforcement officers, who will carry out rigorous alcohol testing. All participants must undergo an alcohol test before the race; those who fail the test will not be allowed to compete.
4. Participants must meet the age requirements outlined in the competition rules and demonstrate the physical fitness and swimming skills necessary to complete a one-way distance exceeding 3,000 meters.
5. Participants shall be personally responsible for any personal injuries or property damage caused during the competition due to their own physical condition or other personal reasons.
7. Currently active, registered professional swimmers are not permitted to compete.Any contestant found to have violated the rules will immediately be disqualified, and their competition results will be nullified.
8. Competition Rules
(1) The competition will follow the Open Water Swimming Competition Rules and relevant management regulations issued by the Swimming Sports Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Chinese Swimming Association.
(II) All competition events will feature a single final round, with rankings determined solely by performance. In cases of tied scores, the tied athletes will share the same ranking, and the next position will be skipped entirely.
(III) The competition order will be arranged according to the following sequence: women first, then men; older athletes first, followed by younger ones; and finally based on the number of registered participants.
(4) Athletes must present either the Games’ Participant Card or their personal ID card simultaneously to the registration judge upon entering the competition venue. Those without proper identification will not be allowed to compete.
(5) Participants from Hong Kong, China; Macau, China; Taiwan Province, China; and overseas are all welcome to join, provided they present valid identification and pay the registration fee.
(6) Athletes are not permitted to compete under someone else's name. On-site registration will be verified strictly using second-generation identification. Any detected instance of cheating will result in the disqualification of the team’s results and any associated rewards.
(7) Admission Rankings and Awards
1. The top 12 finishers in each age group will receive a "National Sports Competition Award Certificate" and prize money. The prize distribution is as follows: 1st place receives 2,000 yuan, 2nd place gets 1,500 yuan, 3rd place earns 1,000 yuan, 4th place wins 700 yuan, 5th place takes 600 yuan, 6th place gets 500 yuan, 7th place receives 400 yuan, 8th place earns 300 yuan, and 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th places are awarded 200 yuan each.
2. The top 12 teams will receive trophies and cash prizes. The prize distribution is as follows: 1st place receives 6,000 yuan, 2nd place gets 4,000 yuan, 3rd place earns 3,000 yuan, 4th place wins 2,000 yuan, 5th place takes 1,000 yuan, 6th place gets 800 yuan, 7th place receives 600 yuan, 8th place earns 400 yuan, and the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th places each receive 300 yuan along with a trophy.
3. Scoring Method
① The top 1 to 8 finishers will receive 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5 points respectively; athletes finishing from 9th to 12th place will each earn 3 points, while those ranked 13th and lower will receive 1 point each.
② The performing group, aged 18–65, each receives 1 point.
4. Participants who did not place and those in the 18-65 age group performing received commemorative medals.
5. Swimmers must wear the swimming safety equipment designated by the organizing committee—specifically, the "Butterfly" swim buoy and a swim cap—provided uniformly by the.
9. Registration and Check-in
(1) Team registration for this competition will be conducted through the collective members of the Chinese Swimming Association. All adult swimming clubs across the country are welcome to participate, but individual entries will not be accepted.
(II) This competition will be conducted via online registration. Each team must designate a specific person to handle the registration process uniformly. To register, please visit www.yue716.com, select this competition, and click the Register Now button. (Teams using this system for the first time are advised to first log in to the WeChat mini-program “Shuima Sports” and verify their identity using their mobile phone number before proceeding with registration.) Alternatively, you can directly choose this competition within the “Shuima Sports” WeChat mini-program to complete your registration. The registration deadline is May 5, 2025. For detailed registration instructions, please refer to the registration page. (3) After completing the registration, print out the registration form, affix the official seal, and mail it—along with a photocopy of your "Chinese Swimming Association Individual Membership Card" and the original Voluntary Participation Declaration for the Competition, signed by both the team leader and yourself—to the organizing unit by May 5, 2025 (postmark date applies). (4) Event Schedule
May 17
1. Please check in by 4:30 PM on May 17 at the reception desk in the lobby on the first floor of Taihu Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel (Address: No. 283 Renmin Road) to collect your competition credentials and materials, and confirm your participation in the cultural evening performance.
2. The team leaders and coaches meeting will be held at 4:30 PM in the conference room on the third floor of Taihu Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel.
3. At 6:00 PM, a reception dinner will be held in the Banquet Hall on the third floor of Taihu Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel. Team leaders and coaches are invited (teams with 10 or fewer members should send 1 representative, while teams with more than 10 members should send 2 representatives).
4. A cultural evening will be held at 7:30 PM, organized independently by each team (Wenbo Garden Huabiao Square).
(5) Based on the hosting venue's capacity, the total number of registered team leaders and athletes is limited to 1,600. Registration will close once this quota is reached—or no later than May 5, 2025, if the quota hasn’t been filled by then. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered for competition scheduling. In case of any discrepancies between online and mailed registration forms, the online submission will take precedence.
10. Funding
(1) Competition Service Fee
Each participant is required to pay 150 yuan, which includes: personal accident insurance (50 yuan, with double coverage), as well as the swimming safety gear provided by the organizing committee—namely, wave-style swimming floats (also known as "buddy floats"), swim caps, and promotional T-shirts. Online registration allows for direct payment. Please transfer your fee to the designated account by April 30 at the latest. 11. Arbitration and Adjudication
Arbitration and the chief referee will be selected by the organizing committee.
12. Competition "Circuit Breaker" Mechanism
This competition will implement a circuit-breaker mechanism under extreme conditions. Participants must adhere to the rules outlined in the competition guidelines and, as required, agree to terminate the event accordingly.
(1) Weather Risk
If extreme heat, extreme cold, severe drought, heavy rainfall, or intense convective weather—such as those predicted before the event or observed on race day—is forecast, the event organizing committee and judging panel will assess the situation and activate the "circuit-breaker" mechanism to decide whether to shorten the race distance, postpone the event, or cancel it altogether.
(II) Other Risks
In the event of sudden situations—such as natural disasters, safety incidents, public health emergencies, or social security events—that are directly or indirectly linked to the event, the event organizing committee may, after careful assessment, activate the "circuit-breaker" mechanism to decide whether to shorten the race distance, postpone the event, or cancel it altogether.
13. The organizing committee of the event reserves the final right of interpretation for these regulations.
14. For matters not covered herein, further notice will be provided.

As a participant, I, my guardian, my legal representative, and anyone who may act on my behalf to file a claim for compensation or initiate legal proceedings hereby declare the following:

1. I voluntarily participate in the 2025 National Open Water Swimming Series (Huating Lake Stop) on July 16. I confirm that I possess the necessary civil capacity and legal responsibility to take part in this event.

2. I confirm that I fully understand and agree to abide by all the event procedures, rules, regulations, requirements, and measures established by the organizing committee.

3. I confirm that I have carefully read and fully understand all the risks associated with participating in this competition (including, but not limited to, the risk of personal injury or death that may arise from this activity). I hereby expressly agree to assume full responsibility for any risks and liabilities that may occur during my participation in the event.

4. Before participating in the competition, I have undergone a medical examination at a reputable healthcare facility and conducted a self-assessment based on the examination report. I hereby declare that I am in good health and free from any injuries, ailments, heart conditions, acute illnesses, or other medical issues that could impair my ability to compete. I also commit to not competing while under the influence of alcohol. My physical condition is fully capable of handling swimming activities, and I am fully prepared to take part in the event. Finally, I agree to assume all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to the possibility of personal injury or death resulting from this sport.

5. Any personal injury, partial or permanent disability, death, medical or hospitalization expenses, property damage, theft of any kind, or loss of belongings—whether resulting from personal reasons or attributable to my own responsibility—occurring during my participation in this competition and throughout the entire event, shall be my sole responsibility. I hereby waive any right to pursue claims or demand compensation from the organizing committee, which assumes no liability for any form of indemnification in this regard.

6. I will provide the organizing committee with my identification documents for verification of my identity and eligibility to participate. I guarantee that the submitted ID or other supporting documents are genuine and valid, and I assume full responsibility for any consequences arising from providing false information, including the organizing committee’s decision to reject or revoke my participation.

7. I promise to register for the competition in my own name, and I will not transfer the eligibility I’ve gained after registration to anyone else under any circumstances, fully accepting all responsibilities and consequences arising from such a transfer.

8I hereby solemnly promise:

(1) I am at least 18 years old;

(2) I have carefully read this document and fully understand its contents;

(3) I acknowledge the contents of this document, and my signature genuinely reflects my intent.

I, along with my guardian and legal representative, have fully understood and agreed to the above terms. I hereby certify that the information regarding my participation/age is accurate and truthful. This document has been personally signed by me, my guardian, and my legal representative. Any unauthorized use of another person’s identity to sign on their behalf will be considered a breach of contract, and I, my guardian, my legal representative, and the impersonator shall all be held fully liable for any resulting legal consequences and compensation claims.
