Notice from the Swimming Center of the General Administration of Sport on Hosting the 25th National Open Water Swimming Championships



To the relevant units:
To fully implement the "National Fitness Program Regulations" and promote open-water swimming activities across China, the 25th National Open-Water Swimming Championships will be held on September 7, 2025, in the Fengcheng River waters of Hailing District, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. Organized under the guidance of the Mass Sports Department of the General Administration of Sport of China, the event is jointly hosted by the Swimming Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Swimming Association, and the Taizhou Municipal People's Government, with the Taizhou Sports Bureau serving as the (organizing entity). Co-organized by Taizhou Cultural Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd. and the Taizhou Swimming Association, the championship will be operated by Taizhou Cultural and Tourism Industry Development Co., Ltd. Relevant details are hereby announced as follows:
1. Registration
(1) Team registration for this competition will be conducted through the collective members of the Chinese Swimming Association. All adult swimming clubs across the country are welcome to participate, but individual entries will not be accepted.
(II) This competition will be conducted via online registration. Each team must designate a specific person to handle the registration process collectively. To register, please visit www.yue716.com, select this competition, and click the Register Now button. (Teams using this system for the first time are advised to first log in to the WeChat mini-program "Shuima Sports" and verify their identity using their mobile phone number before proceeding with registration.) Alternatively, you can directly choose this competition within the "Shuima Sports" WeChat mini-program to complete your registration. Detailed registration instructions are available during the sign-up process. (III) After each team completes online registration, please print out the registration form and email it to [email protected] by August 22, 2025. At the same time, mail the stamped paper copy of the registration form along with the "Voluntary Participation Agreement" to the following address:

The registration deadline for this competition is August 22, 2025. For detailed registration requirements, please refer to the relevant participation guidelines outlined in the competition rules.

Participants who fail to register by the deadline or in accordance with the specified guidelines will not be accommodated for competition.
II. Notes for Participating Teams
(1) All participating teams are required to check in and collect their competition credentials and materials at Taizhou Hotel (Address: No. 88 Yingbin Road, Hailing District, Taizhou City) by 4:00 PM on September 6. (II) Each team shall submit its participation safety pledge to the event organizing committee during the technical meeting.
(III) Participating teams are required to bring their own team flags measuring 2.4 x 1.6 meters, or use the team flag issued by the Chinese Swimming Association.
(Four) On the morning of September 7, your team is invited to participate in the opening ceremony event. All team members are requested to attend—except those assigned as check-in personnel.

6. Entry Requirements
(One) National registered active professional swimmers are prohibited from participating in the competition; any athlete found in violation will have their eligibility and results immediately disqualified.
(Two) Participants must meet the age requirements outlined in the competition rules and be able to swim a one-way distance exceeding3Physical and skill levels above 000 meters.
(ThreeSwimming is a high-intensity competitive sport that places significant demands on the physical condition of participants. Competitors should be in good health and have a solid foundation of regular swimming practice or training. Participants are encouraged to choose events based on their own physical condition and capabilities. However, individuals with the following medical conditions are not permitted to compete:
1Patients with congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease;
2Patients with hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases;
3Patients with myocarditis and other heart conditions;
4Patients with coronary artery disease and those with severe arrhythmias;
5Diabetic patients with either high or low blood sugar levels;
6. Individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 within 30 days prior to the competition date;
7Others who are not suitable for this sport.
If participants violate the rules without authorization, they shall be solely responsible for all resulting consequences.
(4) Practice thorough pandemic prevention measures.
All participants are personally responsible for their own health—please continue to wear masks properly, wash your hands frequently, and maintain a safe distance.
(FiveAthletes are not permitted to compete under someone else’s identity; on-site registration will rely solely on second-generation ID verification. Any instance of cheating discovered will result in the disqualification of the team’s results and any associated rewards.
(Six) Each age group will check in according to the schedule outlined in the Official Program. After verification is complete, participants should perform their warm-up exercises at the starting point. TheParticipants who fail to check in twice will be disqualified from the competition.
(Seven)This competition will include an alcohol test; all participants will undergo screening before the race, and those who fail the test will be disqualified from competing.
7. Competition Rules
(One) This competition will follow the relevant regulations for open-water swimming events set forth by the Chinese Swimming Association. Athletes must check in before entering the water to either participate in the race or swim freely.
(TwoAthletes must wear the color swim cap and safety buoy specified for their age group at the start. Start from the designated area, swim toward the finish line along the route specified by the competition rules. When passing the turning buoy markers, you must navigate around them on the outer side. Any competitor who fails to take the outer path or shortens the distance by cutting in closer will be penalized, resulting in disqualification and the cancellation of their race result.
(Three) Athletes may compete in any swimming style.
8. Admission Rankings and Awards
The competition features individual awards and team awards.
(One) Individual Award: Each age group has more thanThe top eight finishers will be awarded for groups with 10 or more participants; the top three finishers in groups with fewer than 10 athletes will receive recognition.
(Two)Team AwardCountMethod of distribution:The top eight projects are:11. Scoring is based on 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3; athletes who do not place receive 2 points, which are added to the team score. (Three) Team Award: The team award is given to participating teams, with the top…EightNames will be awarded based on the combined scores from the individual sprint race and the "Swim Freely" round—teams with higher total scores will rank higher. In the event of a tie in total scores between two teams, the tie will be broken by their performance in the individual event.If multiple groups are tied for the top positions, the group with more second-place finishes in individual events will rank higher, and this tie-breaking rule continues sequentially.
(Four) Competition awards: In the individual speed race, the top three finishers will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals, while participants ranked fourth through eighth will be awarded certificates of achievement. For the team event, trophies will be presented to the top eight teams.
9. Funding
Each participating team is responsible for their round-trip travel expenses, accommodation and meals during the competition, as well as the participation service fee.
