Lesson 9: Types of Snowboards and How to Choose One

Types of plywood:

Rocker Board (Rocker Snowboard): The board features a V-shaped center, reducing the contact area with the snow surface, which enhances buoyancy during forward gliding and also improves overall flexibility.

Camber Board (Camber Snowboard)The center of the board is shaped like an arch bridge. The steel edges have a large contact area with the snow, providing excellent grip and ensuring greater stability during gliding compared to rocker designs—making it ideal for beginners.

Flat Board (FlatRocker Snowboard):The board base is completely flat. Its characteristics fall somewhere between Camber and Rocker—offering the bouncy performance close to Camber, while remaining more stable than a Rocker.

Coach's tip:

① First, after standing the snowboard upright, ifHeight positioned at the user's chin levelIt's all about the right snowboard length.

② If soUsers with larger feet can opt for wider snowboards. When selecting, you can also use the binding and snow boots to test whether the width is suitable. The snowboard will indicate the weight range it can support at that particular length—just make sureMy own weight is within the weight limit. It's now ready for use.

③ If you want the snowboard to feel softer during sliding, you can choose a shorter board, orChoose a board whose weight capacity matches your body weight. This way, you can choose a softer snowboard.

Coach's little reminder:

① Each snowboard brand has slightly different specifications, andYou can apply a bit of pressure when buying a snowboard., testing whether the board's hardness meets your requirements.

② When beginners are choosing a board,Choose a shape you like, and prioritize a board length that suits you. We'll select other types of snowboards based on future needs.
