The 2025 National Summer Swimming Championships Kick Off in Hefei



On the morning of June 14, the 2025 National Summer Swimming Championships kicked off at the Hefei Sports Center Swimming Pool. The six-day competition will run from the 14th to the 19th, with preliminaries starting at 9:30 a.m. and finals taking place at 7:30 p.m. each night. As one of the nation’s premier, high-level swimming events, the tournament follows the latest FINA competition rules and features five major categories— including men’s and women’s freestyle—and over 30 individual events.


On the first day of competition on the 14th, medals were awarded in four events. In the men's 100m butterfly final, Guangdong's Chen Jun'er clinched the gold with a time of 51.63 seconds, while Zhejiang's Shen Jiahao took home the silver at 51.98, and Hong Jinquan finished third with 52.96. After the race, during an interview, Chen Jun'er shared: "I entered a total of six events in this competition—mainly to challenge myself and push my limits."
In the men's 1500m freestyle final, Liaoning's An Yixuan clinched the gold medal with a time of 15:25.40, while Li Xinhang took home the silver with 15:34.62, and Lü Yuanming finished third in 15:35.75.
In the women's 200m individual medley, Gong Zhenqi from the Chongqing team clinched the gold medal with a time of 2:12.27, while Fan Yaqi took home the silver with 2:13.63, and Qu Jianing finished third in 2:14.13.
In the women's 100m freestyle, Liu Zixuan from the Hebei team won the gold medal with a time of 55.07 seconds, while Lü Yue took home the silver with 55.11 seconds, and Wang Jingzhuo claimed bronze in 55.18 seconds.
On the 15th, six gold medals were awarded in the men's 50m breaststroke, 100m backstroke, and 400m freestyle, as well as in the women's 50m butterfly, 200m breaststroke, and 800m freestyle.
In the men's 50-meter breaststroke, Liao Jialiang from the Guangxi team won the gold medal with a time of 27.82 seconds, while Dong Yifan took silver in 28.14 seconds, and Sun Zheyang claimed bronze with 28.30 seconds.
In the men's 100m backstroke, Wang Zicheng from the Hubei team won the gold medal with a time of 54.92 seconds, while Wang Yutian took home the silver with 55.01 seconds, and Tao Guannan claimed bronze in 55.24 seconds.
In the men's 400m freestyle, Xu Yizhou from Zhejiang team won the gold medal with a time of 3:51.61, while Sun Ou Junxiang took home the silver with 3:53.14, and Li Huajun finished third in 3:54.96.
In the women's 50-meter butterfly, Lü Yue from Zhejiang team won the gold with a time of 26.33 seconds, while Yang Junxuan took silver in 26.61 seconds, and Wang Jingzhuo claimed bronze with 26.79 seconds.
In the women's 200m breaststroke, Jiangsu team's Lü Qinyao shattered her personal best, winning the gold medal with a time of 2:24.35. Xu Jiayue finished second with 2:28.87, while Lin Kechen claimed bronze in 2:29.04.

At the National Swimming Championships, Lü Qinyao staged a stunning comeback to defeat Ye Shiwen and claim the women's 200m breaststroke title.
In the women's 800m freestyle, Zhejiang's Mao Yihan clinched the gold with a time of 8:35.95, while Kong Yaqi finished second in 8:41.96, and Yan Liaoshan took bronze with 8:42.25.
On June 16, the finals will be held for the men's 50-meter backstroke, 200-meter butterfly, 100-meter breaststroke, and 200-meter freestyle, as well as the women's 50-meter freestyle, 200-meter backstroke, and 400-meter individual medley.
