Chen Yuxi wins gold again! China sweeps the women's 10m platform podium at the Diving World Cup Mexico stop, claiming both first and second places.



In the early hours of April 6, Beijing time, the women's individual 10m platform final of the 2025 World Aquatics Diving World Cup took place in Guadalajara, Mexico. Chinese athletes Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi once again delivered a breathtaking showdown, dominating the competition with an overwhelming lead over their rivals. In the end, Chen Yuxi clinched the gold medal, while Quan Hongchan secured the silver. British diver Andrea Spandri claimed the bronze.
In the previous preliminary round, Quan Hongchan topped the standings with a score of 390.40, while Chen Yuxi placed second with 373.65. The two athletes clearly outperformed the rest of the competitors, securing their strong spots in the final.
At the start of the final, Quan Hongchan earned 84 points on her first dive, putting her in first place. However, Chen Yuxi delivered an outstanding performance on her second dive—the 407C—earning three perfect 10s from the seven judges and ultimately securing the highest score of the entire competition with 92.8 points, thus overtaking Quan Hongchan to claim the top spot.
In the following three dives, both Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan ranked among the top two scores of all competitors. Ultimately, Chen Yuxi clinched the gold medal with a total score of 419.35 points across her five dives, while Quan Hongchan secured the silver with 414.40 points. British star Spandolini, who took home the bronze, earned 337.70 points.
Notably, this is Chen Yuxi’s second gold medal at this year’s World Cup. Earlier, she teamed up with teammates Chen Yiwen, Wang Zongyuan, and Cheng Zilong to claim the mixed team gold. With this victory, the three-day 2025 Diving World Cup Mexico stop has come to a close. The Chinese team topped the medal standings with five golds, while Mexico and Italy finished second and third, respectively.
