Notice from the Swimming Center of the General Administration of Sport Regarding the Hosting of the Trainer Training Workshop for Drowning Prevention Education by the Chinese Swimming Association

As temperatures rise, drowning incidents are set to enter a period of increased frequency and occurrence. Drowning has become one of the leading causes of accidental death among adolescents worldwide. To uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping’s development philosophy of putting people first and prioritizing life above all else, further enhance comprehensive and all-around safety measures for public swimming activities, effectively safeguard the lives and physical health of young people, and promote the orderly development of China’s drowning prevention efforts, our center will host the Trainer Training Workshop on Drowning Prevention organized by the Chinese Swimming Association and the Chinese Lifesaving Association from June 27 to 29 in Wuhu City, Anhui Province. This training is being organized by the Anhui Provincial Swimming Sports Association, with co-organization by the Wuhu City Swimming Association and implementation by Wuhu Yongzhixing Swimming Club Co., Ltd. We hereby announce the following relevant details:

Lecturer:
Wen Yuhong (Professor at Beijing Sport University, PhD, and Doctoral Supervisor)
Liao Ting (Professor at Wuhan Institute of Physical Education, PhD, and Master’s Supervisor)
Zhang Cheng (Associate Professor and PhD, Chongqing University of Science and Technology)
Hong Feng (Secretary-General of the Zhejiang Provincial Water Rescue Association, Senior Lifeguard)
Ge Yu (Ph.D. and Lecturer, Beijing Sport University)
Other training staff serve as instructors for the training course.
II. Schedule and Content
(1) Schedule: Check in on June 26; theoretical study, practical training, and assessment from June 27 to 29; depart after the assessment and closing ceremony on the morning of June 29.
(2) Training Content
1. Investigation and Causality Analysis of Drowning Accidents Among Children and Adolescents in China
2. Water Safety Education: Identification, Assessment, and Prevention
3. Emergency Response Strategies and Methods for Sudden Drowning Incidents
4. Teaching Steps and Practical Key Points for Drowning Prevention Safety Skills
5. Physiological and psychological characteristics of different age groups, as well as key points for drowning prevention education.
III. Eligibility Requirements
(1) The swimming authorities of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country must send personnel to participate in this training.
(2) Swimming associations and lifeguard associations of each province, autonomous region, and municipality must each send at least two representatives to participate in this training.
(3) Swimming associations from all regions across the country, grassroots swimming clubs, and community organizations engaged in drowning-prevention awareness activities are all welcome to register and participate.
IV. Registration and Check-in
(1) Registration
1. Participants in the training must complete the registration form (Attachment 1) and the accommodation reservation form (Attachment 2) using a computer and in the prescribed format. Please submit these forms electronically to the organizer’s registration email by June 20. 2. Participants must add the registration contact’s WeChat account by 12:00 on June 18 and, after passing the qualification review, accurately complete the registration information, send it to the registration email, and pay the accommodation and meal fees for the training course to complete the registration process.
3. After registering, please join the group as instructed by the conference staff. All subsequent notifications and information will be posted in the communication group; no further individual notifications will be sent.
4. In the event of any inconsistency between the online registration and the registration form, the registration form stamped with the official seal shall prevail.
5. This training session is limited to 180 participants.
(2) Check-in
Participants are requested to check in from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 26 at the lobby on the first floor of the Wuhu Conch International Conference Center (Address: No. 1005, Jiuhua South Road, Yijiang District, Wuhu City).
V. Funding
(1) No tuition fee will be charged for this training; participants are responsible for their own accommodation, meals, and transportation expenses.
(2) Participants will pay a fee of 400 yuan per person per day, which covers (accommodation in a double room at the hotel and meals, but excludes dinner on the evening of the 29th). All other expenses, including materials and training venue fees, will be covered by the organizing entity. If participants require single accommodation, an additional fee of 170 yuan per person per day will apply.
VI. Requirements
(1) Participants attending the training course are requested to bring two 2-inch photos with a white background upon registration.
(2) After completing the training and passing the assessment, trainers can obtain the “Drowning Prevention Training Instructor Certificate” issued by the Chinese Swimming Association.
(3) Please ensure that the organizing unit makes all necessary preparations for the training course.
