According to a Dec. 24 report by Reference News, foreign media outlets cited U.S., British, French, and other embassies as saying they have received intelligence indicating potential threats targeting Westerners in Beijing's Sanlitun area around Christmas Day or nearby. The embassies urged their citizens to remain vigilant.


According to the Associated Press on December 24, armed police have appeared in Beijing's Sanlitun area. The district is home to numerous high-end brand stores, several embassies, and a growing number of bars, making it particularly popular among foreigners.

According to a Dec. 24 report by Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao website, the newspaper's reporter observed at the scene on the afternoon of Dec. 24 that riot police vehicles had appeared in the Sanlitun area, and police presence had noticeably increased.

Reports indicate that the official website of the U.S. Embassy in China issued a notice on December 24, stating that it had received intelligence suggesting potential threats targeting Westerners in Beijing's Sanlitun area during the Christmas period, and urging U.S. citizens to remain highly vigilant. Following the announcement, riot-control vehicles were spotted in the Sanlitun district of Beijing, and police presence has noticeably increased as well.

Additionally, according to Beijing Public Security Bureau's "PingAn Beijing," Beijing police have activated a yellow-level alert during the Christmas period and are working tirelessly to ensure robust security measures, safeguarding public order and stability.
