[Quick Learning] Easily Master Basic Skiing Skills √

You will need

Ski boots

Snowboard

Ski poles

Extensive snowfall

Winter clothing

Step 1: Put on your gear.

Make sure your gear fits perfectly before you head out to learn. Put on your snowshoes, then securely fasten the toe ends of your snowshoes to each ski.

Tip
Find a place with flat terrain and moderate snowfall to start practicing.
Step 2: Practice walking movements

Practice walking in normal, steady strides while wearing snowboards. Move one snowboard forward by 6 inches, then position the other snowboard an additional 6 inches beyond the first one.

Step 3: Focus on your snowball fight and snowboarding.

Make the most of your ski poles and skis. Pull one pole forward in front of you, then bring the opposite ski forward as well. Next, repeat the same motion with the other ski.

Tip
Your snowshoes are essential gear for skiing, so make sure to use them while learning to help you maintain your balance.
Step 4: Enter into a rhythm
Sync your snowball throws with your steps, aiming to find the perfect rhythm.
Step 5: Try gliding
Now that you’ve mastered walking, you’re ready to glide on the snow. When snowboarding, keep your rhythm—don’t try walking while holding your skis!
Step 6: Shift your weight forward

Shift your weight forward onto the skis so that as you glide swiftly ahead, you’re driving the skis forward rather than pushing them along. Keep shifting your weight progressively toward the front of the skis to maintain this smooth, forward-moving motion.

Step 7: Gather all the skills
Translate the Simplified Chinese content into English.

Did you know?
The largest single-day snowfall on record occurred in Silver Lake, Colorado, in 1921, with a remarkable total of 76 inches.
