Quan Hongchan and Cao Yuan named World Aquatics' 2024 Diving Athletes of the Year

On January 2, World Aquatics announced that Quan Hongchan has been named the 2024 Female Diver of the Year. Earlier in 2024, Quan won gold medals in both the women’s individual and synchronized 10-meter platform events at the World Swimming Championships, and she also claimed two more Olympic golds—again in the women’s individual and synchronized 10-meter platform—during the Paris Games. After receiving the prestigious trophy, Quan shared: "I’m thrilled to receive this award and deeply grateful to World Aquatics for recognizing my achievements. Please continue to pay close attention to diving—your support means the world to me!"
Meanwhile, Chinese athlete Cao Yuan was named the 2024 Male Diver of the Year. This marks the third time Cao Yuan has earned this prestigious honor, following his wins in 2014 and 2018. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Cao Yuan claimed the gold medal in the men’s 10-meter platform diving event, becoming the first Chinese athlete to successfully defend his title on the men’s 10m platform.
